IMPORTANT NOTICE:
On January 1st, 2019 the “Environmental Sanitation Law” tax, which is paid in the establishment, became effective. The Municipal Administration has set the tax at 24.18 Mexican pesos per room and day of each stay (as a reference, approximately 1.23 USD according to the official exchange rate on January 4th, 2019). It is paid directly by the guest on the day of check-in, with the establishment acting simply as an intermediary tax collector between the guest and the municipality.

The amount of this tax will be $25.34 MXN, which is equivalent to 30% of the UMA (Measure & Update Unit), applicable per room and/or bedroom, per night of occupation, and shall be collected for the whole stay, at the time the guest checks in at the hotel. For the standard 7-night all-inclusive visitor, this works out to approximately $9 CAD to be paid at your hotel upon check-in
Please note there is a Quintana Roo Tourism Tax to be paid separately prior to departure from Cancun. Travelers will head to Visitax and complete a brief questionnaire and make the $11 payment with a credit card. Afterward, they will receive a barcode to display in the immigration filters.
